Yes. Registration is online and billed in US dollars, so businesses in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Egypt and every other African market register with us on the same terms. Only registry-level eligibility rules — such as those on some .tz second levels — depend on where you are.

Anyone with a genuine connection to the African continent — a business, an organisation or an individual. There's no requirement to be resident in a particular country, which makes .africa the natural fit for pan-African brands.

Some second levels are restricted: .ac.tz is limited to accredited institutions and .sc.tz to registered schools, both of which require supporting documents. .co.tz and .or.tz are open. We're an accredited .tz registrar, so we handle the eligibility paperwork with the registry for you.

International TLDs register instantly once payment clears. The .tz family goes through registry validation, which usually completes within an hour and can take longer if eligibility documents need review.

Yes. Unlock the domain at your current registrar, get the EPP/auth code, and start the transfer from our client area. We pay the registry fee on first-year transfers, and the transfer adds a year to your existing expiry rather than resetting it.

No. A domain works on its own with our free DNS, and you can point it anywhere — another host, a static site provider, or just email forwarding. If you do want hosting, several of our plans include a free domain for the first year.

Most TLDs allow a redemption period after expiry, during which you can recover the domain for a registry redemption fee on top of the renewal. After that it returns to the open market. Auto-renewal and our reminder emails exist so it never gets that far.
